Book Name: Genious Foods
Writer: Max Lugavere
In the event that you’d have disclosed to me a couple of years prior that I’d one day compose
a book about advancing the cerebrum, I would have been certain
you had confused me with another person.
After I exchanged my school major from premed to film
what’s more, brain science, the possibility of a profession in wellbeing appeared
impossible. This was exacerbated by the way that not long after I
graduated, I got dug in what I thought about a
dreamwork: a writer and moderator on TV and the Web.
My center was stories that I felt were underreported and
could have a constructive outcome on the world. I was living in
Los Angeles—a city I’d adored as an MTV-watching high schooler
experiencing childhood in New York—and had recently finished a five-year
spell facilitating and creating content for a socially cognizant
Telecom company called Current. Life was incredible. What’s more, it was all
going to change.
As much as I appreciated the Hollywood life, I’d regularly find
myself making trips back east to see my mother and two
more youthful siblings. In 2010, on one of those outings home, my
siblings and I saw an inconspicuous change in the manner my
mother, Kathy, strolled. She was fifty-eight at that point and
had consistently had a lively path about her. In any case, out of nowhere, it
was as if she were wearing a spacesuit submerged—
each step and motion resembled a deliberate, cognizant
choice.
