Envision TWO ECONOMISTS TRAVELING BACK IN TIME AND ARRIVING IN the town of Sepphoris, in the Galilee, in the year 200. After entering the synagogue, they see a nine-year-old Jewish kid—the child of a rancher—perusing a portion of the Torah before the nearby network. Economists, who know some adapted realities about the word related structure and demography of the Jewish individuals today, wonder whether there may be an association between what they found in their excursion back in time and the resulting financial and segment history of the Jews. This research venture has been a twelve-year long excursion of studying and discovering that started one day over a lunch discussion in the cafeteria of Boston University, during which we put ourselves in the shoes of the business analyst time travelers.
