On the day after Jesus’ demise, it looked as though whatever little imprint he left on the world would quickly vanish. Rather, his effect on mankind’s history has been unparalleled. After his vanishing from the earth, the times of his surprising impact began. That impact is the thing that this book is about. Properly observed, this impact on past and current history will cause any nice individual — separated from their religious ideas about Christianity—to ask, “Who was this man?”You can miss him in recorded records for some reason, maybe the most obvious being the manner in which he carried on with his life. Jesus didn’t boisterously and demonstrably defend his development in the soul of a rising political or military pioneer. He did not spread out a case that history would pass judgment on his image of conviction prevalent in future books. He didn’t begin by telling his supporters, “Here are pieces of evidence of my divinity; insist them and I’ll acknowledge you.”Normally when somebody passes on, their effect on the world promptly begins to subside.
