Francis of Assisi Biography

To realize a middle-age Italian was to know his city and the man we know as Saint Francis was from Assisi. Assisi lies on a progression of patios on the southwestern incline of a mountain rising about 900 feet over the plain in the Valle Umbra, exactly where the Topino River converges with the Chiascio. The cutting edge city is hovered by late archaic dividers and spreads a region almost twice that of the mid-thirteenth-century city. The number of inhabitants in Assisi in Francis’ time, between 2,000 and 3,000, was about a large portion of that inside its dividers today. It was a city in Francis’ day, yet by the principles of the time a little city.
