Late one night in pre-war Munich, a young lady wearing a black jacket, long dark skirt, boots, and gauntlets, joined by six SS officials in full uniform, climbed the dull steps to her loft. Once inside she removed her gloves and lit two huge religious candles either side of herbed, the head of which was hung with gigantic insignia standards.
