Book Name: Barry Bonds Biography
Writer: John Bloom
In May 1986, the New York Times reported in a short snippet on a minor
league outfielder playing in Hawaii: “Barry Bonds, the child of the previous
major league outfielder Bobby Bonds, drove in seven runs for Hawaii on
Monday with a grand hammer and two singles in a Pacific Coast League
game in Calgary, Alberta, that Hawaii won, 18–8.”1Today, it appears to be
practically interesting to feel that at one time the best specialty for Barry
Bonds was the way that he was BobbyBonds’ child, yet in the spring of 1986,
the main thing that made Barry worthy of notice in the New York Times
was his family tree. Bobby Bonds was not, as his child would turn into, a
specific Hall-of-Famer, but was an extraordinary player about whom
practically any baseball fan knew.
