I started exploring the composition of the Official Histories of the First WorldWar for my doctoral proposal at Leeds University. I had as a top priority that I might uncover some level of connivance with respect to the legislature, who commissioned the works, or the military foundation, who gave its authors, to control the course of history. Inclined by the perspectives of those barely any scholars who had addressed the Official Histories in their work, I left upon my examination hoping to discover numerous occurrences of attempts to smother reality, the overlooking of unpalatable ends, the deliberate adulteration of realities or essentially sloppy recorded composition.
