Book Name: The Book of Joy
Writer: Dalai Lama
As we ventured off the plane at the little air terminal, the wail of the fly
motors stunning and the snowcapped lower regions of the Himalayas
approaching behind us, two old companions grasped. The Archbishop contacted
the Dalai Lama’s cheeks delicately, and the Dalai Lama pressed together with his lips as
in the event that making a gesture of blowing the Archbishop a kiss. It was a snapshot of huge warmth
also, companionship. In the yearlong arrangements for this visit, we were very
mindful of what the gathering may mean for the world, yet we never
acknowledged what seven days together may mean for both of them.
It has been a significant benefit and an overwhelming obligation to
pass on the amazing seven day stretch of exchanges that occurred in Dharamsala,
India, at the Dalai Lama’s habitation in a state of banishment. In this book, I have attempted to
share with you their personal discussions, which were loaded up with
apparently perpetual giggling and punctuated by numerous strong snapshots of
reviewing affection and misfortune.
In spite of the fact that they had met just about multiple times, the men shared a bond
that rose above these concise visits, and each thought about different his
“evil otherworldly sibling.” Never previously, or likely after, would they
get an opportunity to invest such a great amount of energy in one another’s organization, delighting
in the delight of their fellowship.
