Description

At a couple of moments before 6:00 P.M., on 9 December 1985, Jorge Rafael Videla,60 years old, the previous leader of Argentina, resigned lieutenant general, and former president of the Argentine armed force, remained with eight other generals and chiefs of naval operations in the Federal Court of Criminal Appeals in Buenos Aires, awaiting his sentence. Nine years sooner, he had been mainstream with the great majority of Argentines, having driven an overthrow to remove a degenerate government floundering in financial confusion and guerrilla psychological warfare. Presently he and his eight col-groups who had served on three of the military juntas that administered Argentina from March 1976 to December 1983 were accused of hijacking, theft, torture, and murder.
