Book Name: Call Me Dave
Writer: Michael Ashcroft
I initially met David Cameron in 2005 when he was running for the
gathering authority and I was on the conservative Party board. He came to
see me in my office close to the Houses of Parliament and we had a short
conversation about the numerous difficulties the gathering confronted
and how he thought he could make the progressions expected to win in
2010. I was intrigued: he introduced a decent case and I found him
invigorating. I was uncertain whether he was prepared to lead the
gathering, however, there was no doubt in my psyche that his opportunity
would arrive. Being on the board, I needed to stay nonpartisan in the
contest. Shortly after his triumph in late 2005, Cameron requested to see me
once more. He had perused Smell the coffee, my record of the Conservative
Party’s problem, which I had distributed after that year’s overall political
race, at which the Tories had endured their third sequential annihilation.
