The ENVIRONMENTAL SURVEYt was a late evening in the mid-year of 1932.
A mile and a half east of killdeer, North Dakota, two ranch young men,
twelve-year-old Leo Dworshak, and his more youthful sibling Mike, had
completed their errands for the afternoon and were exploring a lush ridge
close to the homestead. It was little Mike who previously seen a strange
object in the valley below.

“It was a gigantic, round thing,” Leo describes in
his exceptional book, UFOs AreWith Us—Take My Word.1 “We just
remained there expanding at it and started excitedly discussing what it was
doing down there and making an honest effort to comprehend just what we
were seeing. It was shimmering, and in spite of the fact that it was
presumably more than half a pretty far, we could tell it was positive as
large as our outbuilding, perhaps bigger. It seemed, by all accounts, to be
entirely round [and] I tallied various shades of light on it that came from a
band around the edge.”I figured it must be a machine since it was pivoting
in a confounded way.

The blazing hued lights framed an external shell,
similar to a band or belt that went completely around it at the vastest point
and was turning one way. The inner-shell appeared to be stopping or maybe
turning the other way… It was totally quiet and delivered no haze of fumes
exhaust or smoke.”We remained there on the peak for quite a while, simply
watching that incredible machine… At that point, we chose to attempt to
improve the look. As we began to walk downhill toward the machine, we were

even more flabbergasted to discover our way obstructed by an
imperceptible power that would not let us get any nearer. It was as if we
were knocking toward an undetectable fence or divider. We experienced
that invisible ‘something’ over and over, sliding aside and the difference
against the unflinching surface.
