Book Name: Fanny
Writer: Erica Jong
It is pouring at Merriman Park. The green is the green that exists in no
place except for England. Indeed, even the tree trunks are green, being
kissed with greenery. Furthermore, the steps leading to the little Greek
sanctuary is dangerous with similar green greenery. Across the ha-ha,
toward the finish of the road of downpour soaked chestnut trees, dairy
animals are grazing, heads down, neglectful of the downpour. They are
English cows. An earthy colored and white spaniel with sloppy paws limits
into the house, races across the highly contrasting marble floor of the
primary lobby, completely unconcerned to the gathering of divine beings
and goddesses on the painted roof, the scenes from the Aeneid on the
dividers, the leaning back marble figures of Poetry, Music, Geography,
Astronomy, Geometry, and Sculpture on the pediments over the impressive
doors. The canine has been eating grass and she stops quickly to upchuck
on the parquet floor of the library, at that point races up the incredible steps
to her mistress’bedchamber, where she jumps (with sloppy paws) upon her
silk-robe covered knees (denoting the rose-pink watered silk with paw
prints), vomits some more grass, and in short, altogether occupies her from what she has been writing.
