I Still Dream About You By FANNIE FLAGG

Book Name: I Still Dream About You

Writer: FANNIE FLAGG

IT’S FUNNY WHAT A PERSON WILL REMEMBER SO MANY YEARS LATER;

what sticks in your mind and what doesn’t. At whatever point he recollected

the year he had worked at the Western Union office, he recalled that little

girl. At the time, the whole city of Birmingham was encircled by a number

of smaller rural areas, each with its own name and shopping area. Most had

a few holy places, a drugstore, a sentence structure school, and high school,

a bank, a Masonic corridor, a J. C. Penney’s, and a film theater. In East Lake,

where he worked, the Dreamland Theater sat straightforwardly across the

street from the Western Union office, between the barbershop and the

grocery store. He had been sitting at his work area, peering out the window,

when he had noticed the pretty earthy colored haired young lady in a green

plaid dress. She was the tallest of the three or four young ladies strolling

home from school together that evening. It wasn’t a bizarre sight to see

gatherings of children passing at that point of the day.
