Presently he could see the mouth of the rear entryway ahead, a bright road hung with hitting, the backs of individuals, and over their heads the cadenced swaying of a passing parade, tall shakos and guidons in nearly even lines. Two tall shafts with a decoration between them swung into see. He got a brief look at tall red letters:
