We assembled a conference in
May 2003, on some excellent spring days in the northern Italian Trentino,

issues and patterns in their day by day work on, asking them to refl ect, specifically through contextual analyses, on their own rules for ‘achievement’ and ‘disappointment’
in science composing. The positive experience urged us to call a second
meeting, with the help of similar patrons. This time we welcomed voices
from the advertising divisions of scientifi c establishments. A bunch
of Italian and British experts showed up for the end of the week in Trento in
May 2005, and some scholastic partners joined for the conversations. Once more
the procedures were wealthy in detail and more inquiries were raised, so we
