Alija Izetbegović was conceived in Bosanski Šamac on 8 August 1925, to a
separated bey’s family (having a place with the nobility) which, however
initially from Belgrade, was constrained in 1868, “under Serbian dread,” as
the accounts have it, to move to a position of more noteworthy security.
