There was before a helpless Prince, who had a realm. His realm was exceptionally little, yet at the same time very enormous enough to wed upon; and he wished to wed.

It was positively somewhat cool of him to state to the Emperor’s little girl, ‘Will you have me?’ But so he did; for his name was famous all over; and there were a hundred princesses who might have replied, ‘Yes!’ and ‘Thank you merciful.’ We will perceive what this princess said.

It happened that where the Prince’s dad lay covered, there grew a rose tree—a most delightful rose tree, which bloomed just a single time in like clockwork, and, after its all said and done exhaust just one blossom, yet that was a rose! It smelt so sweet that all considerations and distresses were overlooked by him who breathed in its aroma.
