Description
A Chancery judge once had the consideration to advise me, as one of an organization of approximately hundred and fifty people not working under any doubts of lunacy, that the Court of Chancery, however the sparkling subject of much mainstream bias (so, all in all I thought the appointed authority’s eye had a cast toward me), was practically faultless. There had been, he conceded, a trifling flaw or so in its pace of progress, however this was misrepresented and had been completely attributable to the ‘stinginess of the general population,’ which blameworthy open, it showed up, had been until recently bowed in the most decided way on in no way, shape or form growing the quantity of Chancery makes a decision about named—I accept by Richard the Second, yet some other lord will do also.
This appeared to me too significant a joke to be embedded in the body of this book or I ought to have reestablished it to Conversation Kenge or to Mr. Vholes, with one or other of whom I figure it probably began. In such mouths I may have coupled it with an able citation from one of Shakespeare’s poems:
“My tendency is stifled
To what it works in, similar to the dyer’s hand:
Pity me, at that point, and wish I were reestablished!’
