the air above and down I returned again square upon my feet with a shock that made my teeth clatter. Furthermore, there I remained with my head and shoulders out of the water while my lungs breathed in long drafts of unadulterated outside air. I was too astounded to even consider thinking and too feeble to even think about moving, so I just remained there unmoving until I had recovered my harmony.
