Burial Rites A Novel

Description

THEY SAID I MUST DIE. They said that I took the breath from men, and now

they should take mine. I envision, at that point, that we are all light blazes,

oily splendid, vacillating in the haziness and the yell of the breeze, and in

the tranquility, of the room I hear strides, dreadful coming strides, coming

to blow me out and send my life up away from me in a dim wreath of

smoke. I will disappear into the air and the night.
