Description

These are the anglers who stand guard over the cod stocks off the headlands of North America, the fishermen who went to the ocean yet overlooked their pencil. Sam Lee, wearing dark rain boots and a red flotation coat made significantly more brilliant by its novelty, drives his late-model pickup truck through the last murk of night, down to the wharves that loosen up to where the water is profound enough for a shallow fishing dinghy.
