Recorded Context

Brad Parks began wheelchair tennis in the USA in 1976. It was initially

created as a diversion treatment for people with spinal rope wounds. Part

pants

needed to contend and endeavors were made to create and advance the game both

broadly and globally. In Canada, the Canadian Wheelchair Sports Association

represented wheelchair tennis preceding 1998. In 1998 it was moved to Tennis Canada,

some portion of Sport Canada, where it was increasingly coordinated and execution driven.

The game spread worldwide to more than 60 countries. The global rivalry started in

1985 with the World Team Cup, which is what could be compared to the Fed and Davis Cups in

People’s tennis and Canada was a member. The yearly occasion has developed

is as yet known as the World Team Cup which includes the world’s top competitors. In 1992

wheelchair tennis turned into a full decoration sport in the Paralympic games. Canada has sent

delegates to each Paralympics for tennis every year since its presentation in B

Barcelona.
