After fifteen minutes, having stuffed the fundamental rigging for the all-inclusive outing, the Polaris unit rode the slidewalk through the green quadrangle and the group of Academy structures, out toward the spaceport. Somewhere far off they could see the rocket cruiser Polaris, balanced on the starting slope, her long outline laid out pointedly against the blue sky. Laying on her four stabilizer balances, her nose highlighted the stars, the boat seemed as though a monster shot ready and prepared to impact its objective.

“See her!” shouted Astro. “On the off chance that she isn’t the most delightful boat known to mankind, I’ll eat my cap.”
