Book Name: The Cold War in the Middle East
Writer: Nigel J. Ashton
Description
This volume is the glad result of a meeting held at Cumberland
Cabin, Windsor, somewhere in the range of 10 and 12 May 2006. It would not have been
conceivable without the liberal sponsorship of the Arts and Humanities
Examination Board of the United Kingdom, which gave three individuals from
the International History Department at the London School of Eco-
comics and Political Science drove by Arne Westad, and including Piers
Ludlow and myself, a five-year award in 2001 to investigate linkages
between the Cold War and provincial clashes somewhere in the range of 1965 and 1990.
Some portion of my own commitment to this task was the thought for a gathering
taking a gander at occasions in the Middle East somewhere in the range of 1967 and 1973 of which
this book is the outcome.
