These were the words I wrote in my diary on October 9, 2007, the day preceding I was nearly killed by a side of the road bomb in Baghdad. The last line I wrote in the days a while later. Afterward, I returned and underlined it in an alternate hued ink, as if to stress that I had returned to it from an alternate perspective.
