ghtmare- – staying there, serenely shaking to and fro, a bad dream.

I wound up intensely wanting to be back out there on the vastly more secure desert.

“Do I stun you?” he inquired. “I shouldn’t- – not when you see my thought processes.”

“We don’t see them,” I snapped.

“All things considered, let me show you. You’re on Mars chasing uranium, correct? To mine and boat the radioactives back to Earth to prop the nuclear motors up. Right?”

I gestured over at our geiger counters.

“We elected to come to Mars,” Val said incidentally.
