Thistle saw that it was opened warily, just an inch or thereabouts. He got a brief look at a weighty chain extended over the inch opening, and saw a portion of hairy, undaunted face.

The entryway was unchained. The driver strolled in, while the entryway stood open. Thistle began to coast in after him….

Simple possibility made him look at a window close to the entryway. This window outlined another unshaven, unflinching face. What’s more, the eyes in that face resembled saucers as they gazed full at Thorn!
