Writer: Shahab Ahmed
Description
The primary draft of this book was composed between January 2012 and September 2013 while I was instructing fulltime as Associate Professor of Islamic Studies at Harvard University. A meeting arrangement as Lecturer
on Law and Research Fellow in the Islamic Legal Studies Program at Harvard Law School in the scholastic year 2014–15 empowered me to reexamine the
original copy between July 2014 and November 2014.
In making corrections, I intentionally decided not to take a gander at any material distributed in 2014 (and it is likely additionally that I have missed some striking material
distributed in 2013 that was delayed to come to hand). I am sorry to any creators
I have dismissed, and to my perusers, for any shortage, this has brought about.
This book draws on a scope of essential source material interpreted from
different dialects. Except if in any case showed in the commentaries, all the interpretations have been finished by me—yet not without the benefit of having counseled master companions and associates who have generous contested, adjusted,
affirmed, or just endured my renderings: Mohsen Goudarzi (Arabic and
Persian), Moeen Lashari, Amer Latif and Hasher Ahmed Majoka (Panjabi,
Siraiki and Urdu), Sukidi Mulyadi (Javanese and Malay), Himmet Taşkömür
(Footstool), and Muḥammad Muḥsin Khān and Sayyid Muḥammad Khālid
(Pashtō). I am generally appreciative.
