Book Name: The Lake House Secret
Writer: Debra Burroughs
That moron!” Jenessa Jones faltered as she slid behind the wheel of her
minimal vehicle and hammered the entryway shut. “I can see I’m not
getting that job.”She stuck her key into the start and turned it. The driving
force of her twelve-year-old Toyota groaned a couple of times, attempting to
turn over.”No, no, no!” she shouted, slamming the palm of her hand against
the steering wheel. “I needn’t bother with this today.”The rankling July sun
of Central California made within her vehicle feel like a stove. Her long, dull
hair started adhering to the sweat that trickled down her neck and onto her
white silk shirt. She moved her windows down to release the stifling heat.
She had gone to the prospective employee meeting wearing her naval force
blue business suit, hoping to establish her best connection, however, she
could guess by the interviewer questions and the obvious absence of
interest, that the lady was just going through the movements, similar to she
had just decided who she would hire. Whispering a petition and
intersecting her fingers, she attempted the motor a couple more times.
Victory! The motor, at last, thundered to life and ultimately settled into a
consistent murmur. Flicking broadcasting in real-time conditioner,
changing the fan to the highest-speed, she pulled out of the parking garage
to set out toward home.
