expositions, a diary, and plays. In 1977, the year he distributed Petals of

Blood, Ngugi’s play I Will Marry When I Want(co-written with Ngugi wa

Mirai and cruelly condemning of the shameful acts of Kenyan culture) was

performed, and toward the year’s end, Ngugi was captured.
